Rick Santorum looks very PRESIDENTAL to me tonight. What say you?

Rick Santorum has consistently held the positions and values closest to my own. The only issue for me is that he seems like such a "nice guy", and I'm not sure that's what we need right now.

I have recently liked Newt Gingrich's "bull dog" approach--especially when it comes to the press. But, he's a loose cannon. I think he's stepped in it again with this latest round of "Romney owns shares in Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac." Anyone who has a mutual fund probably owns a few shares in Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. I get that going to the moon again is a nod toward supporting NASA; but I think the timing is bad.

Romney seems pretty steady in his approach, but I don't think represents me as well--particularly when it comes to social issues. Bain Capital is a plus in my book. Focusing so much on Gingrich is not.

Ron Paul is great in his attitude on government and finances, but I think he's way off the reservation on foreign affairs.

That brings me back to Rick Santorum. I didn't see the CNN debate. It seemed like he might as well have not been on the stage in the NBC debate. The format for these debates has been very frustrating. I think Santorum needs to show his metal as well as his morals before we will see him surge. Did he succeed in doing that last night?

I'm also finding, in general, that the campaigns are missing many of the things I am interested in. Who's the guy who will really make our federal government smaller? Which candidate is really going to simplify the tax code--and thereby reduce the oppression of government in our lives? Who can muster the clout to get Congress to repeal Obamacare? Term Limits is perhaps not such an issue for the presidency, but I'm looking for a president who will lead the charge for it in Congress. And who is going to lead us in an effort to bring stability to the Middle East? Obama's lack of leadership there is definitely going to come back to bite us.
